Port of Toledo Old Fire Station

In 2009, the Port acquired the City of Toledo's former Public Safety Building, which housed the Toledo Fire and Police Departments and the dispatch center, with the understanding that the Port would rehabilitate the building and grounds into viable and usable property. Work is nearly complete on the building rehab, and is expected to be finished this spring. The open space formerly occupied by the administrative wing of the building has become a beautiful 'pocket park' with work by local artists on display.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held May 21st, 2010 for the new Art Park in conjuction with the Port's Centennial Party.

The interior has been refinished largely in part to the Community Services Consortium (CSC) Youth Construction Crew which is funded through a collaborative of grants and formula funds.  The CSC construction crew students get hands-on experience in the building trades.
