2017 Wooden Boat Show, August 19 & 20

The Port of Toledo is pleased to announce the release of its 2017 Wooden Boat Show Poster. This year's poster features Lincoln County's very own Coast Guard legend, Retired Master Chief Thomas D. McAdams. Chief McAdams has attended all twelve previous year's shows where he could be found either showing his boat Pokalong, or competing in the GP Containerboard Boat Race. The Port of Toledo is proud to honor Chief McAdams at this year's Wooden Boat Show as well as highlight the courageousness of the US Coast Guard in carrying out their duties.

This poster continues the Port of Toledo's Wooden Boat Show's tradition of creating unique collectable posters. This poster was created by Newport artist, Travis Leonard. The illustration is of Chief McAdams standing impressively over images of Coast Guard vessels that he commanded throughout his 27 year career in the US Coast Guard. Chief McAdams retired as the Officer in Charge of the USCG Station at Yaquina Bay, Newport, Oregon in 1977. He was highly decorated and considered a legend in the Coast Guard's small boat community as well as among the fishermen of the Pacific Northwest.

The Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show is a free, fun, family event with something for everyone: boat building, kids' activities, live music, food, boat rides, and lots more.
