2018 Wooden Boat Show Poster Release

The Port of Toledo is pleased to announce the release of its 2018 Wooden Boat Show Poster. This year’s poster features Uno, a 124 year old wood hull steamboat. Originally built as a rowboat in 1894 on Lopez Island, Washington by a Norwegian immigrant, Uno was converted to a gas engine in 1906, then purchased and turned into a steamboat in the 1960’s. Stephanie Hylton of Lopez Island WA bought the boat in 1973. As a member of the Northwest Steam Society Hylton travels with Uno and demonstrates the steam engine.

This poster is the tenth Wooden Boat Show poster created by Newport artist Travis Leonard and continues the Port of Toledo’s Wooden Boat Show’s tradition of creating unique collectable posters. The inspiration for the poster was a photo provided by Hylton, showing her cruising a quiet waterway with her family.

The Port of Toledo Wooden Boat Show is a free, fun, family event with something for everyone: boat building, live music, kids’ activities, food, boat rides, vendors and lots more. The show is located at the Port’s Marina and Waterfront Park at 127 NW A Street, Toledo. Hours are Saturday, August 18, from 10 am to 6 pm with live music until 6:30pm; Sunday, August 19, 10 am to 4 pm.

The Port would like to thank the major sponsors of the event: Georgia Pacific, Oregon Coast Bank, Federal Relations, Toledo Ace Hardware, Dahl Disposal Service, Englund Marine, Fishpeople Seafood, Pacific Maritime & Heritage Center, Bigfoot Beverage Distributors, Siletz Boat Works, and Rogue Brewery.
