Public Noticing and Private Party Noticing for Potential Impacts to Floodplains
Port of Toledo intends to seek financial assistance from USDA, Rural Business Service (RBS)for a purchase of Pre-engineered building to provide vocational training and house equipment. The proposed project consists of erecting a 40’ x 80’ pre-engineered metal building on a concrete foundation raised to an elevation of 1’ above Base Flood Elevation at its Shipyard at 1000 SW Altree Lane, the building will be located to the south of the original shop.
If implemented, the proposed project will convert 3,200 sq ft in flood zone AE. In accordance with Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management and USDA Departmental Regulation 9500-3, Land Use Policy, the purpose of this notice is to inform the public of this proposed conversion or effect and request comments concerning the proposal, alternative sites or actions that would avoid these impacts, and methods that could be used to minimize these impacts.
